Because pets don\u2019t sweat like humans, they must rely on limited mechanisms, like panting. Each year, hundreds of pets succumb to heat stroke because they were left outside or in a confined space (like a car). It\u2019s absolutely crucial to protect your pet by never leaving them in a parked car or chained up outdoors.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The symptoms of heat stroke in pets include:<\/span><!--more--><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Excessive panting<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bright red tongue and gums or pale gums<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Drooling<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vomiting\/diarrhea<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Increased heart rate<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Weakness<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Collapse<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Heat stroke is a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.allcreaturesvetbrooklyn.com\/blog\/pet-emergency\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">veterinary emergency<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Consider the following: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Provide shade.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> When going to the beach, park, or other outdoor area, take along some sort of shade (e.g., a pop up canopy or umbrella). In the backyard, you can create your own designs using various canopies and easy-to-care for trees. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Water is a must. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No matter where you go, provide your pet with plenty of water, including trips in the car or playtime outside. To keep water cool, add some ice or treat your pet to a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/bakingmischief.com\/2017\/07\/11\/frozen-dog-treats\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">frozen pet treat<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">!<\/span><\/b><\/li>\n<li><b><\/b><strong>Cool activities are possible.<\/strong> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Even when it\u2019s hot out, there are numerous ways to have fun with your pet while staying comfortable. Create an outdoor water park using sprinklers or a kiddie pool.
